The Hope Replenishing System (HRS) is a standardized psychological assessment instrument. It is designed to measure Self-care and stress management. The scale is intended for use with Adults, caregivers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 15 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 15. Interpretation guidelines:
- Bad apple, squashed out applesauce, bananas (High stress / Low self-care): 0 – 8
- Prickly pear, or a lemon (Moderate-high stress / Low-moderate self-care): 9 – 10
- Mixed fruit, a fruit salad, or a fruit medley (Moderate stress / Moderate self-care): 11 – 12
- Peachy (Low stress / High self-care): 13 – 13
- Cool as a cucumber (Very low stress / Excellent self-care): 14 – 15
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
