Scale Overview
The Headache-Specific Locus of Control Scale for Adolescents (HSLC-A) was developed by French et al. (1990). It is designed to measure Headache-specific locus of control. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 11 to 55. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low attribution to this dimension: 11 – 25
- Moderate attribution to this dimension: 26 – 40
- High attribution to this dimension: 41 – 55
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Subscale Cronbach's alphas typically range from 0.70 to 0.85.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
