The Gender-Based Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire – Gender RSQ was developed by London, B., Downey, G., Bonica, C., & Paltin, I. (2007). It is designed to measure Gender-based rejection sensitivity. The scale is intended for use with Adults and college students.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 22 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Anxiety/Concern, Expectancy of Acceptance.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = 1 (Very unconcerned / Very unlikely), 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6 (Very concerned / Very likely).
The scale includes 11 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed.
Total scores range from 1 to 36. Interpretation guidelines:
- Rejection Sensitivity score per scenario (calculated by multiplying Anxiety by the reverse of Expectancy): 1 – 36
