Scale Overview
The Fighting – High Risk Behavioral Assessment was developed by Dolan, S. (1989). It is designed to measure Exposure to and involvement in fighting and aggressive behavior. The scale is intended for use with Students aged 8-18.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Observation of Others, Peer Behavior, Personal Involvement.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = No, 1 = Yes, rarely (1-3 times per year), 2 = Yes, occasionally (1-2 times per month), 3 = Yes, regularly (daily or 1-2 times per week).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 30. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Exposure/Involvement: 0 – 10
- Moderate Exposure/Involvement: 11 – 20
- High Exposure/Involvement: 21 – 30
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
