Scale Overview
The Fantasy Measure was developed by Rosenfeld, Huesmann, Eron & Torney-Purta (1982). It is designed to measure Fantasy behavior in children. The scale is intended for use with Urban elementary school children, grades 2-6.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 17 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Aggressive Fantasies, Active-Heroic Fantasies, Prosocial Fantasies.

Response anchors: 1 = No, 2 = A little, 3 = A lot.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 1 to 3. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low frequency of this type of fantasy: 1 – 1
- Moderate frequency of this type of fantasy: 1 – 2
- High frequency of this type of fantasy: 2 – 3
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
