Scale Overview
The Family Relations/Cohesion Scale is a standardized psychological assessment instrument. It is designed to measure Family Cohesion. The scale is intended for use with Children, adolescents, and older family members.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 6 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not true, 2 = Hardly true or sometimes, 3 = True a lot of the time, 4 = Always true or almost always.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 6 to 24. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Cohesion: 6 – 12
- Moderate Cohesion: 13 – 18
- High Cohesion: 19 – 24
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
