Scale Overview
The Family Quality of Life Questionnaire – Patient Version (FQOLQ-PV) was developed by Panarut Wisawatapnimit (2009). It is designed to measure Family Quality of Life. The scale is intended for use with Cancer patients.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 32 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: General Family Quality of Life, Cancer-Specific Family Quality of Life, Global Family Quality of Life, Overall Satisfaction.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at All, 2 = A Little, 3 = Somewhat, 4 = Quite a Bit, 5 = Very Much.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 32 to 160. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Satisfaction: 32 – 74
- Moderate Satisfaction: 75 – 118
- High Satisfaction: 119 – 160

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Not specified.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
