Scale Overview
The Extended DCA-Transparency Scale was developed by Hossiep et al. (German adaptation); Schnackenberg et al. (original scale) (2021). It is designed to measure Organizational Transparency. The scale is intended for use with Employees / working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Disclosure, Clarity, Accuracy, Timeliness, Relevance.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = Strongly agree.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Average score per dimension (higher scores indicate higher perceived transparency): 1 – 5
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of McDonald's omega >= .87.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
