Scale Overview
The English Language Teachers Resilience Inventory (ELTRI) was developed by Mohsen Shirazizadeh, Afsaneh Abbaszadeh (2023). It is designed to measure Teacher Resilience. The scale is intended for use with English Language Teachers (ELTs).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 35 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Internal Motivations, Emotional Management, Pedagogical Skills, Social Skills, Contextual Supports.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly Disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Moderately Disagree, 4 = Moderately Agree, 5 = Agree, 6 = Strongly Agree.
The scale includes 12 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 35 to 210. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Resilience: 35 – 93
- Moderate Resilience: 94 – 151
- High Resilience: 152 – 210
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.84.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
