The Duty of Care in Companion Dog Owners Scale (DCCDOS) was developed by Carmen R. Glanville, Lauren M. Hemsworth, Paul H. Hemsworth, Grahame J. Coleman (2023). It is designed to measure Duty of care in companion dog owners. The scale is intended for use with Companion dog owners (adults).

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree / Not at all responsible, 2 = Disagree / Partly responsible, 3 = Somewhat disagree / Somewhat responsible, 4 = Neither agree nor disagree / Very responsible, 5 = Somewhat agree / Completely responsible, 6 = Agree (7-point items only), 7 = Strongly agree (7-point items only).
The scale includes 2 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
