Scale Overview
The Domain Specific Clinical-Centrality Quality of Life Scale – DSC-C was developed by Malachy Bishop (2005). It is designed to measure Domain-specific quality of life and disability centrality. The scale is intended for use with Adults with chronic illness or physical disabilities.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 40 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Importance, Satisfaction, Control, Interference.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not Very (Important / Satisfied / Much), 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = Very (Important / Satisfied / Much).
The scale includes 10 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
