Scale Overview
The Disability Interview Schedule – Transfer Subscale (DIS-T) was developed by A. E. Bennett and J. Garrad (1970). It is designed to measure Functional disability in transferring. The scale is intended for use with Adults with chronic illness or physical disability.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 4 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 4. Interpretation guidelines:
- Fully Independent: 0 – 0
- Mildly Dependent: 1 – 2
- Severely Dependent: 3 – 4
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
