Scale Overview
The Digital Health Readiness Questionnaire – DHRQ was developed by Martijn Scherrenberg, Maarten Falter, Toshiki Kaihara, Linqi Xu, Mayke van Leunen, Hareld Kemps, Hanne Kindermans, Paul Dendale (2023). It is designed to measure Digital Health Readiness. The scale is intended for use with Adults (specifically cardiology patients).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Digital access, Usage of digital technology, Digital Literacy, Digital Health Literacy, Learnability.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree / Never / No, 2 = Disagree / Rarely, 3 = Neither agree nor disagree / Sometimes, 4 = Agree / Often, 5 = Strongly agree / Daily.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 20 to 100. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Digital Readiness: 20 – 50
- Moderate Digital Readiness: 51 – 80
- High Digital Readiness: 81 – 100
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranged from 0.735 to 0.937 across domains.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
