Scale Overview
The Diabulimia Knowledge Level Scale – DKLS was developed by Serap Çetinkaya Özdemir, Vahide Semerci, Ebru Sönmez Sarı (2023). It is designed to measure Diabulimia Knowledge. The scale is intended for use with Nurses and healthcare professionals.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 19 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: General information, Behaviors, Psychological effects, Physiological effects.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 19 to 95. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Knowledge Level: 19 – 44
- Moderate Knowledge Level: 45 – 70
- High Knowledge Level: 71 – 95
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha .70 to .92.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
