Scale Overview
The Diabetes Family Responsibility Questionnaire – DFRQ was developed by Anderson, B. J., Auslander, W. F., Jung, K. C., Miller, P., & Santiago, J. V. (1990). It is designed to measure Family sharing of diabetes responsibility. The scale is intended for use with Children and adolescents with Type 1 diabetes and their parents.

This instrument consists of 17 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Parent(s) took or initiated responsibility for this almost all of the time, 2 = Parent(s) and I shared responsibility for this about equally, 3 = I took or initiated responsibility for this almost all of the time.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
