The Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire – Second Version (COPSOQ II) was developed by Pejtersen, J. H., Bjorner, J. B., Hasle, P., Kristensen, T. S. (2010). It is designed to measure Psychosocial work environment and employee health. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.

Response anchors: 1 = Always / To a very large extent / Excellent / All the time / Fits perfectly / Yes, daily, 2 = Often / To a large extent / Very good / A large part of the time / Fits quite well / Yes, weekly, 3 = Sometimes / Somewhat / Good / Part of the time / Fits a little bit / Yes, monthly, 4 = Seldom / To a small extent / Fair / A small part of the time / Does not fit / Yes, a few times, 5 = Never / To a very small extent / Poor / Not at all / No.
The scale includes 6 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 100. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low level of the respective subscale construct: 0 – 50
- High level of the respective subscale construct: 51 – 100
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.50 – 0.89.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
