Scale Overview
The Conflict Resolution Style Scale – CRSS was developed by Ronald G. Slaby & Nancy G. Guerra (1988). It is designed to measure Adolescent Conflict Resolution and Aggression. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents (specifically males aged 12-16).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Verbal Aggression, Physical Aggression.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 10. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Aggressive Tendencies: 0 – 2
- Moderate Aggressive Tendencies: 3 – 6
- High Aggressive Tendencies: 7 – 10
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
