Scale Overview
The Condom Fit and Feel Scale – CFFS was developed by Michael Reece, Debby Herbenick, Brian Dodge (2007). It is designed to measure Perceived condom fit and feel. The scale is intended for use with Men who use condoms.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 14 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Condoms Fit Fine, Condoms Are Too Long, Condoms Are Too Short, Condoms Feel Too Tight, Condoms Feel Too Loose.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never Applies to Me, 2 = Sometimes Applies to Me, 3 = Often Applies to Me, 4 = Always Applies to Me.
The scale includes 2 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 14 to 56. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low fit and feel problems: 14 – 28
- Moderate fit and feel problems: 29 – 42
- High fit and feel problems: 43 – 56
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha .60 to .89.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
