Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 27 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Cognitive State Anxiety, Somatic State Anxiety, Self-Confidence.
| Factor / Subscale | Items | N |
|---|---|---|
| Cognitive State Anxiety | 1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22,25 | 9 |

Response anchors: 1 = Not At All, 2 = Somewhat, 3 = Moderately So, 4 = Very Much So.
The scale includes 1 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 9 to 36. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low (per subscale): 9 – 18
- Moderate (per subscale): 19 – 27
- High (per subscale): 28 – 36
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Good internal consistency across subscales.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
