Scale Overview
The Collective Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale – CTSE was developed by Ralf Schwarzer & Gerdamarie S. Schmitz (1999). It is designed to measure Collective Teacher Self-Efficacy. The scale is intended for use with Teachers.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 12 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all true, 2 = Barely true, 3 = Moderately true, 4 = Exactly true.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 12 to 48. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Collective Self-Efficacy: 12 – 24
- Moderate Collective Self-Efficacy: 25 – 36
- High Collective Self-Efficacy: 37 – 48
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
