The Client Satisfaction Questionnaire – CSQ-8 was developed by C. Clifford Attkisson, Daniel L. Larsen, William A. Hargreaves, Tuan D. Nguyen (1979). It is designed to measure Client satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Adults receiving health or mental health services.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Quite dissatisfied / Poor / No, definitely not, 2 = Mildly dissatisfied / Fair / No, not really, 3 = Mostly satisfied / Good / Yes, generally, 4 = Very satisfied / Excellent / Yes, definitely.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 8 to 32. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Satisfaction: 8 – 15
- Moderate Satisfaction: 16 – 23
- High Satisfaction: 24 – 32
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha typically ranges from 0.86 to 0.94.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
