Scale Development & Technical Details
Scale Overview
The CCK Impulsivity Scale was developed by Carli Pentz and Colin Willis (2012). It is designed to measure Impulsivity. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 40 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Sensation Seeking, Lack of Premeditation, Lack of Perseverance, Urgency, General.
| Factor / Subscale | Items | N |
|---|---|---|
| Sensation Seeking | 2,10,19,25,40 | 5 |
| Lack of Premeditation | 3,6,7,36,38 | 5 |

The scale includes 7 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 40 to 200. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Impulsivity: 40 – 93
- Moderate Impulsivity: 94 – 146
- High Impulsivity: 147 – 200
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Not specified.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
