Scale Overview
The Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema Self-Care Scale – BCRL-SCS was developed by Zeynep Deveci, Özgül Karayurt, Ozlem Bilik, Sibel Eyigör (2023). It is designed to measure Lymphedema Self-Care. The scale is intended for use with Adult females with breast cancer-related lymphedema.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 33 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Protection, Activity and Disease Process Management, Pressure Management, Sustainability.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 4 = Always / I completely agree, 3 = Often / I agree, 2 = Occasionally / I don't agree, 1 = None / I don't agree at all.
The scale includes 13 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Overall Cronbach's alpha of 0.82.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
