Scale Overview
The Assessment Questionnaire-2 (AQ-2) – Allen Adaptation was developed by Stephen E. Finn, David G. Schroeder, Mary E. Tonsager (adapted by Andrea Allen) (1994). It is designed to measure Client experience of psychological assessment. The scale is intended for use with Adults undergoing psychological assessment or testing.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 45 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Self-Awareness/Understanding, Positive Accurate Mirroring, Positive Relationship with the Examiner, Negative Feelings about the Assessment.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 1 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Self-Awareness/Understanding (Alpha 0.84-0.94), Positive Accurate Mirroring (Alpha 0.80-0.91), Positive Relationship (Alpha 0.87-0.92), Negative Feelings (Alpha 0.79-0.92).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
