Scale Overview
The Argentinean Questionnaire on Coping for Children 8–12 Years of Age was developed by Richaud de Minzi, M.C. (2006). It is designed to measure Coping strategies. The scale is intended for use with Children aged 8 to 12 years.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 27 items organized into 9 factors/subscales: Logical analysis, Cognitive restructuring, Cognitive avoidance, Search for support, Action on the problem, Search for alternative forms of gratification, Emotional control, Paralysis, Lack of emotional control.

Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = No, 2 = Sometimes, 3 = Yes.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 3 to 9. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low utilization of the strategy: 3 – 5
- Moderate utilization of the strategy: 6 – 7
- High utilization of the strategy: 8 – 9
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha: 0.71 (functional strategies), 0.74 (dysfunctional strategies).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
