This instrument consists of 40 items organized into 8 factors/subscales: Approach Behavioral Resources Crafting, Approach Behavioral Demands Crafting, Approach Cognitive Resources Crafting, Approach Cognitive Demands Crafting, Avoidance Behavioral Resources Crafting, Avoidance Behavioral Demands Crafting, Avoidance Cognitive Resources Crafting, Avoidance Cognitive Demands Crafting.
| Factor / Subscale | Items | N |
|---|---|---|
| Approach Behavioral Resources Crafting | 1,2,3,4,5 | 5 |
| Approach Behavioral Demands Crafting | 6,7,8,9,10 | 5 |
| Approach Cognitive Resources Crafting | 11,12,13,14 | 4 |
| Approach Cognitive Demands Crafting | 15,16,17,18,19,20 | 6 |

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Crafting Activity: 1 – 2
- Moderate Crafting Activity: 2 – 3
- High Crafting Activity: 3 – 5
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of α = .93 (avoidance crafting) to .94 (approach crafting).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
