The Anxiety Scale for Distance Education – ASDE was developed by Mehmet Ramazanoğlu, Ali Çetin, & Çelebi Uluyol (2024). It is designed to measure Distance Education Anxiety. The scale is intended for use with University students.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 17 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Readiness for the Profession Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Privacy Concern.

Response Format

Total scores range from 17 to 85. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Anxiety: 17 – 39
- Moderate Anxiety: 40 – 62
- High Anxiety: 63 – 85

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha: .89 (overall), .83 (Readiness), .80 (Social), .89 (Privacy).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
