Scale Overview
The Antiracism and Nonracism Scale was developed by Jennifer LaCosse, Danielle Krusemark, Jennifer Foltz, & E. Ashby Plant (2023). It is designed to measure Antiracist and nonracist beliefs. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

This instrument consists of 10 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Antiracism, Nonracism.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = 7, 8 = 8, 9 = Strongly agree.
The scale includes 1 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 5 to 45. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low agreement with the construct: 5 – 18
- Moderate agreement with the construct: 19 – 31
- High agreement with the construct: 32 – 45

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Antiracism subscale McDonald's Omega = .86; Nonracism subscale McDonald's Omega = .82.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
