The Aggressive Sexual Behavior Inventory – ASBI was developed by Donald L. Mosher & Ronald D. Anderson (1986). It is designed to measure Sexual Aggression. The scale is intended for use with Men.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 6 factors/subscales: Sexual Force, Drugs and Alcohol, Verbal Manipulation, Angry Rejection, Anger Expression, Threat.

Response anchors: 1 = Never, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = Extremely frequently.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 20 to 140. Interpretation guidelines:
- No reported aggressive sexual behavior: 20 – 20
- Low frequency of aggressive sexual behavior: 21 – 50
- Moderate frequency of aggressive sexual behavior: 51 – 90
- High frequency of aggressive sexual behavior: 91 – 140
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha of .94 (20-item full scale), .87 (10-item short form).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
