Scale Overview
The Aggression Towards Parents—High Risk Behavioral Assessment was developed by S. Dolan (1989). It is designed to measure Exposure to aggressive family behavior and runaway behavior. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents (aged 8-18).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 8 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Peer Aggression Towards Parents, Own Aggression Towards Parents, Parental Aggression Towards Children, Runaway Behavior.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = No, 1 = Yes.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 8. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Exposure/Involvement: 0 – 2
- Moderate Exposure/Involvement: 3 – 5
- High Exposure/Involvement: 6 – 8
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
