Scale Overview
The Adolescent Assertiveness Assessment Scale (AAA-S) was developed by de Lima, S. L. P., Simeão, S. d. S. S., Silva, W. A. D., & Galdino, M. K. C. (2024). It is designed to measure Adolescent Assertiveness. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents (aged 12-18).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never or rarely, 2 = Sometimes, 3 = Often, 4 = Always/almost always.
The scale includes 9 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 20 to 80. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Assertiveness: 20 – 40
- Moderate Assertiveness: 41 – 60
- High Assertiveness: 61 – 80
