Scale Overview
The AAUW Sexual Harassment Survey was developed by American Association of University Women (AAUW) (2001). It is designed to measure Sexual harassment victimization and perpetration in schools. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents / School-aged youth.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = Never, 1 = 1-2 times, 2 = 3-5 times, 3 = 6+ times, 9 = Not Sure.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 42. Interpretation guidelines:
- No reported incidents: 0 – 0
- Low frequency of incidents: 1 – 14
- Moderate frequency of incidents: 15 – 28
- High frequency of incidents: 29 – 42
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Not specified.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
