MINIMUM POWER THEORY

is a basic theory concerning the coalition formation process which states that all members who control sufficient resources to turn a winning coalition into a losing one are equal in terms of their relative power and that all individuals’ expectations concerning the division of the coalitions pay-off will conform to an equity norm, based on power.

MINIMUM POWER THEORY: “The minimum power theory simply implies that we, as human beings, will attempt to gain power by any means, for example erecting a coalition party to enter government.”
