MASKING LEVEL DIFFERENCE (MLD)

is the change in the threshold level for detecting an auditory stimuli. This has also been referred to as binaural masking level difference or BMLD.

MASKING LEVEL DIFFERENCE (MLD): “Stimuli cannot always be detected immediately, by varying the stimuli, the masking level difference can be obtained.”
