CONSISTENCY THEORY

introduced by American psychologist Fritz Heider, a category of social psychological theory postulating that individuals are primarily driven by a craving for the retention of congruity or uniformity over their mental abilities.

CONSISTENCY THEORY: “Both Heider’s and Korman’s consistency theories are grounded in the idea that people possess a willingness to maintain consistency in their lives.”
