otherwise known as lysergic acid diethylamide is a strong hallucinogen (a drug which induces hallucinations). LSD as a molecule closely resembled the molecule serotonin, hence, research has indicated that due to this close structural relationship, once taken both serotonin and LSD are taken up into the body doubling its effect. LSD can be smoked, injected but is usually ingested orally.
