appropriate death

APPROPRIATE DEATH

the death a person would choose if given the opportunity – which is heavily influenced by perception. The concept draws attention to the needs and values of individuals in the terminal phase of life. It challenges the assumption that a good death has the same meaning for all people. May also refer to a planned death, for example, in cells or other programmed things.

APPROPRIATE DEATH: “The person considered that in being hung publicly would be an appropriate death for the person who had killed a child.”
