n. the uncontrollable urge to consume human flesh. Pathological in nature, this urge to devour a fellow human being is observed in patients with schizophrenia and related mental disturbances. In psychoanalytic theory, such cannibalistic tendencies point to a fixation with the oral-biting phase of human psychosexual development. See kuru- also windigo.
CANNIBALISM: “Usually observed in schizophrenics, the urge for cannibalism is a form of grave mental disturbance.”
