In Neuropsychological Assessment, recognizing the CR helps clinicians accurately diagnose the type and severity of cognitive deficits, particularly executive dysfunction. A tendency toward catastrophic reactions in testing environments signals low cognitive reserve and a high susceptibility to environmental stress, providing critical information about the patient’s capacity to tolerate rehabilitation therapies or complex daily living situations.
