The Cognitive and Behavioral Outcomes of Sexual Behavior Scale – CBOSBS was developed by Kimberly R. McBride, Michael Reece, Stephanie A. Sanders (2007). It is designed to measure Negative outcomes of sexual behavior / Sexual compulsivity. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

Scoring

Total scores range from 0 to 76. Interpretation guidelines:
- Total Score Range (Higher scores indicate greater negative outcomes; scores at or above the 80th percentile suggest clinical levels of sexual compulsivity): 0 – 76

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cognitive scale alpha = .89; Behavioral scale alpha = .75.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
