Scale Overview
The Cancer Treatment Survey – CaTS was developed by Schofield, P. (2012). It is designed to measure Patient preparation for cancer treatment. The scale is intended for use with Cancer patients preparing for chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 25 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Procedural concerns, Sensory/psychological concerns.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly Disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = In Between, 4 = Agree, 5 = Strongly Agree.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha > 0.90 for both subscales.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
