Scale Overview
The Culture, Organization, and Management in Intensive Care Questionnaire (COMC-ICQ) was developed by Minvielle, E., Dervaux, B., Retbi, A., Aegerter, P., Boumendil, A., Jars-Guincestre, M. C., & Guidet, B. (2005). It is designed to measure ICU organizational culture, communication, and management. The scale is intended for use with Intensive care unit staff (physicians and nursing personnel).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 59 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Organizational Culture, Relations and Communications, Relations with Users, Coordination, Organizational Learning and Change.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree / Not at all / Ineffective, 2 = Disagree / To a slight extent / Poorly effective, 3 = Neither agree nor disagree / To a moderate extent / Moderately effective, 4 = Agree / To a great extent / Effective, 5 = Entirely agree / To a very great extent / Very effective.
The scale includes 20 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Reported in Minvielle et al. (2005).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
