The Changes in Sexual Functioning Questionnaire – Female Clinical Version (CSFQ-F-C) was developed by Anita H. Clayton, Elizabeth L. McGarvey, Gary J. Clavet, Linda Piazza (1997). It is designed to measure Sexual Functioning. The scale is intended for use with Adult females.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never / No Enjoyment / Much less than half the time, 2 = Rarely / Little Enjoyment / Once a month or less, 3 = Sometimes / Some Enjoyment / About half the time, 4 = Often / Much Enjoyment / Much more than half the time, 5 = Every Day / Always / Great Enjoyment.
The scale includes 2 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 14 to 70. Interpretation guidelines:
- Indicative of Sexual Dysfunction: 14 – 41
- Normal Sexual Functioning: 42 – 70
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha of 0.90.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
