Scale Overview
The Female Sexual Resourcefulness Scale – FSRS was developed by Terry P. Humphreys & Deborah J. Kennett (2008). It is designed to measure Sexual Resourcefulness. The scale is intended for use with Women.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 19 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Very Uncharacteristic of Me, 2 = Rather Uncharacteristic of Me, 3 = Somewhat Uncharacteristic of Me, 4 = Somewhat Characteristic of Me, 5 = Rather Characteristic of Me, 6 = Very Characteristic of Me.
The scale includes 8 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 19 to 114. Interpretation guidelines:
- Total Score Range (Higher scores indicate higher sexual resourcefulness): 19 – 114
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.91.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
