Scale Overview
The Christian Liberalism Scale was developed by R. J. Stellway (1973). It is designed to measure Christian Liberalism. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 6 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = strongly disagree, 2 = disagree, 3 = neutral or no opinion, 4 = agree, 5 = strongly agree.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 6 to 30. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Christian Liberalism: 6 – 13
- Moderate Christian Liberalism: 14 – 22
- High Christian Liberalism: 23 – 30
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
