The Job Descriptive Index – JDI (Roznowski 1989 Revision) was developed by Patricia Cain Smith, Lorne M. Kendall, Charles L. Hulin (Revised by Mary Roznowski) (1989). It is designed to measure Job Satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 72 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Work on Present Job, Present Pay, Opportunities for Promotion, Supervision on Present Job, People on Your Present Job.

The scale includes 36 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.

Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
