Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Terrible, 2 = Unhappy, 3 = Mostly dissatisfied, 4 = Mixed (about equally satisfied and dissatisfied), 5 = Mostly satisfied, 6 = Pleased, 7 = Delighted.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 5 to 35. Interpretation guidelines:
- Dissatisfied: 5 – 14
- Mixed: 15 – 24
- Satisfied: 25 – 35
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha .79 – .81.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
