Scale Overview
The Satisfaction With Job Facets was developed by Andrews, F. M., & Withey, S. B. (1976). It is designed to measure Job Satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 5 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Terrible, 2 = Unhappy, 3 = Mostly dissatisfied, 4 = Mixed (about equally satisfied and dissatisfied), 5 = Mostly satisfied, 6 = Pleased, 7 = Delighted.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 7. Interpretation guidelines:
- Dissatisfied: 1 – 3
- Mixed / Neutral: 3 – 4
- Satisfied: 5 – 7
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha values range from .79 to .81.
Administration
