Scale Overview
The Affective, Normative, and Continuance Commitment Scale was developed by John P. Meyer, Natalie J. Allen (1997). It is designed to measure Organizational Commitment. The scale is intended for use with Employees and working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 30 items organized into 5 factors/subscales: Affective Commitment, Normative Commitment (Original), Normative Commitment (Revised), Continuance Commitment (High Sacrifice), Continuance Commitment (Lack of Alternatives).

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 7-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 7 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 9 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of ACS alpha: .77-.88; NCS alpha: .65-.86; CCS alpha: .69-.84.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
