The Job Stress Scale – JSS was developed by Parker, D. F., & Decotiis, T. A. (1983). It is designed to measure Job Stress. The scale is intended for use with Employees / Working adults.

Response Format

Total scores range from 13 to 65. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Job Stress: 13 – 30
- Moderate Job Stress: 31 – 48
- High Job Stress: 49 – 65

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha values ranged from .71 to .82 for the 13-item version, and .83 for the 9-item version..
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
